Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a painful impairment of the wrist, hand and fingers. It is caused by pressure on the median nerve that passes through the narrow tunnel of ligaments and carpal bones. The median nerve receives sensations from the thumb and fingers and controls movement of the fingers and thumb.
